Hi.

My earphones have been through a lot. That includes a trip through the washing machine and a swim in a cup of hot chocolate. The audio quality is awful, naturally. The remote has also started acting up. Sometimes it won't work, then if I twiddle the jack around a bit, the volume changes and it suddenly works again.

Today I got around to finally buying a new pair from the Apple Store. I get them home and they work perfectly... Except the remote, which doesn't work at all. No amount of twiddling makes any difference.

I googled it and discovered it can be caused by fluff inside the jack, I've had a little poke around but haven't been able to remove any if there's any there.

The old earphone remote still works occasionally. The new one not at all, although it works perfectly fine when plugged into my iMac.

Help? :S
