Seriously. He should stick to what he does best, and not write about music itself. He's a smart guy and can write better than many online journalists and pundits, but only when he doesn't point out his inflated ego and act like everything he writes is so relevant to everyone*.
I like how he, while referring to Green Day concert tickets, said that "A year ago, you couldn't have given them away." I'm sure that's why Pepsi used them in their iTunes ad over a year ago. And I don't know many people who would turn down a free concert. ;)
*I'm specifically referring to his claims that Apple gets ideas from his site, and his numerous claims that "everyone knows that iPod Garage is the best iPod-related site on the web", etc. I'd give that award to iPodlounge, or even iPodhacks long before I'd give it to the iPod Garage.

Palmer is the PT Barnum of the iPod world.
He also has fake quotes from news sources all over LoadPod saying it the best service, easiest service etc etc - none of the news sources he has QUOTED have EVER reviewed his LoadPod Service.
Here's another quote from his website:
"...the President and Founder of LoadPod, the nation's leader in iPod loading services"
It's not even in the top 25 of these services! The June Issue of Popular Mechanics rated the top 10 services - LoadPod wasn't even mentioned.
All of his editorials have made up interviews, fictional statistics, and inflated sensational words.
Besides, his lead sponsor is Jack Campbell of MacMice - someone who seems to be separated at birth from Bill.
Please refrain from any compliments to this guy.
A little truth about Bill Palmer (http://jackwhispers.blogspot.com/2005/05/billwhispers-updated.html)

LOL. The only reason I referred to him as a "better writer than many" is because I've read a LOT of horrible writers. Don't take "better" as meaning "good". :)
Also, I've said negative things about him in seemingly every MacBytes posting that links to one of his articles, so I figured it was time to pull out the faint-damning-disguised-as-a-compliment routine.

True, I seem like I have a vendetta - but I just can't stand narcissistic egomaniacal pathological liars. (whew - now I can put down my thesaurus)

Haha, true. :p I'm glad I've found someone who feels as strongly as I do about that. :)
P.S. I did, actually, read an article in the NY Times (I believe it was the Times...) that mentioned LoadPod. And that quote he uses from them is accurate. Note how that quote doesn't actually mention LoadPod at all, but just talks about how iPod loading services seemingly have become a lucrative bandwagon to jump on. The article didn't exactly praise LoadPod, but rather mentioned that it exists.

But NBC news actually does have an article from the today show recently - where they reviewed iPod Services like loadpod - I contacted NBC news and they never said the quote:
"LoadPod takes the hassle out of loading CDs"
- NBC News
NBC News has a searchable transcript database (I consult with my local NBC affiliate for Mac Repair) - I wasn't able to find the name LoadPod in the consumer or journalist database for the NBC story library.
Now, some of these below, I can believe because SOME are insignificant publications that probably couldn't get in touch with the big boys easily.
''LoadPod rocks."
- Sound and Vision Magazine
''LoadPod: it's the easiest thing I ever did!" fictional
- Fox News
"It's a booming aftermarket of the iPod economy" Loadpod not mentioned
- New York Times
"iPod illiterate? LoadPod will send a professional to your house to pick up your iPod and CDs and return them to you within five days with the iPod fully loaded."
- BusinessWeek Loadpod does NOT hire professionals, it's a whoever wants to do it in an area that's not taken application process
LoadPod has also been featured in:
- USA Today fictional
- Chicago Tribune maybe
- Miami Herald why would he not include what a home state paper said?
- Seattle Times don't know
- Sound and Vision yes
...and several other publications! I mention Loadpod several times in my article on him ...ha ha
Honestly, it's almsot ridiculous that MacBytes gives him such attention, Macsurfer at least has some decency.

we're not trying to give him undue attention - the reason he gets linked so often is that his articles are submitted all the freakin' time. We approve some, look away from others, etc. If you have better, fresh, relevant content to link to, by all means I'm game to link it up.

Well, U2 used to be good. Remember With Or Without You? That was pretty good. Can't help you with DMB.
And geez, cut Bill some slack. I mean, I know his opinion of the mini was *ahem* shall we say a little extreme. But it's just a fluff piece. You guys take this stuff way too seriously.
For the record, even if the mini does bad it doesn't matter. It's true purpose is like the iPod, to get people into the stores to buy other stuff. If it sells, great. More profit, more free advertising from the media cuz it looks nice. And I wouldn't use any iPod loading service, I'm not that lazy. I'm wondering when he'll come in here and this will become a flamefest. He frequents here you know.
Next we're all going to start making fun of Mac360. DMB does suck though.
