Help with iWork on iCloud

This might be simple to answer but the issue I am having is this:

I have a iMac that is signed into iCloud. Settings has the documents and data turned on.

I create a document in pages on my iMac and I wait 10 min or 60 min and when I sign into iCould under iWork its not there.

If I create a document on my iPad under pages then the doc shows up under iCloud / Pages.

How can I fix the issue creating docs on my iMac?
