I think Slashdot is excellent, there's just a sh*t load of people there, it's less tight of a community in my opinion.

Other than that, I think they do great reports on things you normally wouldn't see anywhere else.

Then again I don't visit there all too often so I may be a bit uninformed.

It probably takes the crown for "most broken moderation system in existence" - run by and for swarming legions of smug idiots and kept in place by inept site administrators who just don't care. The news is banal, pointless, skewed, selective, and inaccurate.

Reading the hilarious comments at -1 almost makes up for all of this, though...
