the largest capacity 2.5" drive ive run into is 100GB.

For 5400rpm speeeds, Seagate makes one, Hitatchi makes one, Toshiba makes one.
I've seen a 120GB drive, haven't seen any shops with it yet though.

The cheapest solution is an external drive (USB2 or FireWire) as long as you don't mind the extra box you can get those up to around 400GB or even bigger if you don't mind an even bigger box.

well i purchased a 160gb usb2.0 (purchased it actually on mistake thought it was usb2.0/firewire) hd and im having trouble with my old g4 recognize it, ive tried disk utilty and still having trouble mounting it.. See what im trying to do i backup all my itunes off my old g4 500 onto the external so i can use it with my Mac Mini, got a steal on a stock one with 512 thrown in it.. What would you suggest get rid of the external that i bought on mistake and get a firewire one lacie or seagate, get a mini mate, or actually upgrade the internal?

I had problems with a USB2 drive not working with my PowerBook, though that was probably a power issue because the device is bus powered. When I bought a new enclosure that had a FireWire connector the drive worked just fine.

I can't say that it would fix your problem though, but it might.

I have about 300 Gig on my Mac mini.
Internal 80G plus 3 external firewire drives. I think the externals are faster than the internal. I bought 3 macally firewire enclosures for about $70 CDN each.
