I have SSD and HDD installed in my Macbook pro and want to know how to move the mail folder from the SSD (which is my app and osx) to HDD (Data disk).

I have been searching and trying for 2 days and can't seem to find the solution. I want my mail to automatically save all the inbox, sent folders in the HDD (at my desired destination folder)

Please help.

thanks

Since the Mail folder resides in the Library folder, which itself resides in your home folder (Macintosh HD / Users / YOU / Library /), you need to move your entire home folder to the HDD for that to work.
Is your Mail folder that big, that the SSD is too small for that?

My mail folder is about 8GB and I really don't want it to take the space on the SSD. I would rather have my data on the data disk so that I can back it up on time machine.

Can I just simply drag all the folders to the HDD? will that work? or I have to setup the destination file under some kind of preferences?

thanks for your help.
