Transferring AT&T unlimited plans from iPad 1 to iPad 3

There has been a lot of speculation that it will be possible to use the old unlimited data plans on the new iPad by going to the AT&T iPad landing page and putting in the new iPad's IMEA.

Has anyone tried it yet? Can it be done?
