Hi there,

I just got a Power Mac G5 7.2. It is the machine with a single 1.8 GHz PPC CPU. It was a basement find, so it hasn't been powered up for quite a while.

Unfortunately the machine does not boot. When I press the power button you can hear the fans starting and the HDD spins up. The white LED on the front of the computer does not stay on, it flashes once every 5 or 6 seconds. The Apple docs about the front LEDs flashing patterns are not relatable, because this kind of flashing is not part of the documents. After about a minute or so the fans are speeding up dramatically. There is no Picture on the monitor and no reaction to keyboard commands. The optical mouse lights up. I did press the SMU button on the logic board but had no luck.

Any ideas ?

thx in advance
