Does this thread have a point? We have all seen UI mods like this, and we all know it is no substitute for a real Mac.

Seems like you have some hatred towards macs, yet you want to imitate there style on a windows computer.
I'm not gonna go into why i think one os is better than another, but if windows is so great as you are certainly implying, maybe you should make some updates from microsoft update.

No, I understand that, a couple years ago I also tried to do that with my computer just to see if I could do it for a challenge which also gave me broken icons. However, now that I use Windows and Mac at school, and have tried Mac myself and not listened to what other people told me about another operating system, I do certainly enjoy it.
I'm not trying to knock windows or start a war about which os is better, but I just wanted to state a couple of examples on why I use both windows and mac.
Windows will always be for all my games I have, but for everything else like schoolwork, movies, video, I use mac.
Also, your probably extremely pro windows too (I was too and used to not be a mac fan AT ALL) but well, my experience summed up quick.
1. No maintence: No defragmenting, no scandisk, no viruses or virus checkers or updates needed, no spyware, and the hard drive never slows down no matter how much stuff you delete or put back on it such as movies and music.
2. Expose - instantly resizes everything on your screen into little boxes your mouse can go over so you can have a 100 webpages or w/e else open at once, press one button, and it's all organized instantly into little boxes
3. Last of all, to you, who wrote about how applications unexpectly quit I can have, I've had 15-20 programs open at once, with over 100 web pages opened up in different windows...I think it's stable enough.
These aren't reasons why mac is better, just merely facts about it that I think people would find interesting that are windows users.....I knew nothing either until i tried both operation systems

To the original post/poster: You don't realize how ugly that looks, do you? The thing that bugs me most is the low-quality icons and the horrible aliasing on the text. As for how many programs I have open, take a look at this:
http://iindigo3d.com/pwnage.png
Take a guess at what processor I'm doing all this on: 2.7Ghz? 3Ghz? 3.3Ghz? WRONG. All this is being done on a rather old 1Ghz iMac G4. If a wimpy little machine like mine can do this, then what can one of the newer Macs do? Also, I'd love to see a 1Ghz Windows PC do all this without crashing.
You're not pwning us, but rather we're pwning you. Better back out while you can.

if this is serious, then yes, there is software like ObjectDock that allows dragging and dropping - not just an image...
IF not, then
