Hi, I just bought Apple TV 3 and really like the interface. I was thinking about getting a 2nd Apple Tv for my bedroom but figured I would save some money and get a used ATV 2.

Can ATV 2 get the new interface with a software upgrade? Is there any other drawbacks of not getting another 3 (besides the lack of 1080p, that doesn't matter on my bedroom TV)?

The Apple TV 2 does get the new interface through a software update. At this time the only thing the 2 doesn't get is 1080p support.

I believe he means that the Apple TV 2 doesn't support for 5Ghz WiFi networks.

I'm using the 2.4 GHz network in the bedroom, since the reception on the 5 GHz network is too weak. But I'm using the 5 GHz in the living room, so it's clearly capable of using both bands...
