iPod touch Soldering ipod touch 2g battery

Ok, i abousletely fail at soldering.. i never soldered my ipod touch in my life.. Where should i start? I need absouletly all the steps, noob friendly.. From tinning it to soldering it.. i have so much problems and tried 3 times already and cant even get it to stick.. Please tell me where to put the soldering wire on my soldering iron because i cant get it to melt either.. I'm not even sure if im soldering on the right side of the battery
