Hello all,

I came across a used Powerbook in my area and I was wondering what the Mac community thought about whether this was a good deal. The unit is about a year old 12" Powerbook that has:

-256 RAM (I was bump to either 768 MB or 1.25 MB)
-60GB hard drive
-A 1.33 processor
-Combo drive
-It is listed as having no screen blemishes or dead pixels and a small dent right above where disks are inserted, yet it does not have any impact on functionality

The seller is asking for $1000, but it is negotiable.

I am looking to buy either a 20" iMac G5 or a Dual 2.3 Powermac to compliment the 12" Powerbook (if I bought the laptop) for school and work.

What do you all think?

Thanks in advance!

Hello!

Thanks for the response! I appreciate it.

As a note, which I am sure you saw, I actually meant that I would bump the RAM to either 768 MB or 1.25 GB. Sorry about that!

Thanks again!

Sam

Sounds like a good deal to me, and it seems fair and reasonable for the price. Just, if you can, ask to look at it and see what its all about. - BTW if you need more power go with the DP PM 2.3GHz (as you stated), otherwise the iMac will work just fine for you.
Good luck, and welcome to the Mac side
