Hello. I was wondering if anyone has experience running or at least using OS X Lion on a MacBook 3,1 with a 2.2 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4 gigs of RAM or a similar system. I'm thinking about moving up from Snow Leopard 10.6.8 but don't want to do it if it's going to bog the computer down. I know the machine satisfies the basic system requirements, but I want it to be usable in a non-frustrating way. Thanks.

I have the same computer running Lion. I haven't used it much since upgrading - it's been at my parents house - but I've never seen it bogged down. I've actually been impressed at how snappy it is, though the most intensive thing I've done with it is probably iPhoto 11. I'm still using the original 120 GB HDD too.

IIRC this model will not be upgradeable to Mountain Lion.

Lion should be pretty smooth with your configurations. It's really the RAM that really gives you speed. 4 gigs and a 2.2GHz would be fine.
