Just a quick question, I plan to install (actually, reinstall) Mac OS X Panther on my iMac G3, but this computer will not take DVDs. So I am wondering if Panther came on DVDs, because if not then I can be sure that no matter what disk I get it will work. If there are Panther DVDs, then I will make sure to get a CD instead. Thanks for any help you can provide.

With my G4 iBook it came on a CD (two grey Restore CDs, one for the OS, one for iLife and additional *****). That was 2004.

Looking at eBay's plural apostrophic auctions, will give you similar information, for example this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-Mac-OS-X-10-3-Panther-M9227LL-A-/180858786539?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1c0612eb#ht_500wt_1327

That's great, thanks for letting me know. How about the retail disk?

Retail and upgrade versions were on CD. Some new computers came with the DVDs. Really you shouldnt have any trouble finding a CD version anywhere.

That's great, thanks for letting me know. How about the retail disk?

As shown above, it comes on three CDs at least.
