I know the original Apple spec processors for the 100Mhz FSB Powermac were 400, 450 and 500 Mhz. Can you put faster processors into them - as in not just the upgrades designed for them but processors from faster systems? Could you maybe do this by overclocking the motherboard to 133Mhz?

Could you put a processor out of a digital audio or quicksilver into a sawtooth board etc?

You would have to buy a processor upgrade. It's not worth it to try and OC the bus to get it to work. OWC has a thing where you can choose your model and it will tell you what upgrades would work in it. If you don't like the prices, eBay works too.
