Hello,

I would like to buy a 16Gb reconditioned from the Apple Store.
My wife has a Nano 6th (2010) and is not impressed by its battery life.
On average, her Nano runs music for 4 hours max. continuously.
The product details claims "up to 24 hours of music playback when fully charged".

Best regards,

Mac Mahon

There's no difference between the 2010 and 2011 models, other than perhaps a few internal parts. As far as I know, the batteries are the same capacity.

I can get much more than 4 hours of music playing on my nano. I've never tried it, but I think I could get the advertised 24 hours on mine.

Does your wife constantly use the screen? If so, what's the brightness set at? I find that heavy usage of the screen will drain the battery pretty quickly. I typically pick a playlist and let it go.

Also, what kinds of files is she using. Files with less compression will take more battery usage. I typically use 128 and 256 kbps AAC files.
