Well, let me start that I did search and found threads like this, but wanted to reasure myself that everything was in order...
I have a dual 1.8 g5 with the base 256 ram, pretty much all stock, and am running tiger. Now, I don't have any speakers plugged in right now (in the process of moving), so I am using the built in speaker. Now, just about everytime I scroll or use the slideshow settings the computer sounds like there is a cricket in there. I don't think this is an issue with the speaker as I have muted them (though honestly don't know if that is anything more then a software mute).
Also, the sound doesn't appear to be comming out of the speaker, seems lower and on the wrong side, almost around where the memory is (in general location only). Again though, I can't be sure as it is somewhat quiet and the sound is in the frequency range that makes it hard to locate.
I don't want to sound paranoid, but to a degree I am. Even the dual 1.8 was an expensive piece of equipment, and I just want to be reasured that everything is okay. I am sure I could learn to live with, the dell it replaced was so much louder, sometimes sounded like a helicopter flying overhead when the HD spun up (well, maybe a slight exageration, but only slightly).
