It's official! The european parliament has rejected the bill!

Very good news, indeed... :)

Here's the main point why Software patent isn't needed:Software is already protected by copyright.

It'll only make the big companies try to establish software patents country by country instead of all in one, big, swoop. But it's still good news. :)

And wasn't Software Pantents banned in the EU a long time ago? No one seems to care. This is really ridiculous.

I don't understand a lot about the issue of software patents, but I do know that a lot of my colleagues wanted to see this bill rejected. So congratulations to them, and other developers who were concerned about this!
