For the last several years I have hosted specific files on my idisk's sites folder. That way I could quickly imagine tag files into posts. It was a nice, easy process-- drag the file into the sites folder, the URL to the file became http://homepage.mac.com/username/filename.extension.

Do any of the new options from microsoft, google, or dropbox support something similar?

Have tried to read around, but it's a very difficult topic to search for.

Thanks!

You can use the Dropbox public folder for this, although it's a few more steps and the link isn't as nice like that. I just put up a simple site for our local Mac users group, hosted on Dropbox and with our domain name redirecting to it.

http://www.flmug.org redirects to http://dl.dropbox.com/u/76885206/index.html

You can see that the link to the file isn't simple, so you'd have to redirect a domain name to that link as we did, or just give that link out directly, but it provides some of that functionality.
