I know this has been asked countless times in these forums, but after searching high and low, I just can't find a solution to this problem. You guys might be tired of hearing about this, but I'd really appreciate your help. Here's the deal:

I have a 250G WD Passport that works fine in my girlfriend's 2006-era Macbook with Snow Leopard freshly installed. In my identical 2006-era Macbook, it doesn't show up at all. Ever. Disk Utility and System Profiler show nothing. I have tried manually mounting the hard drive through Terminal, but even that won't work. I just recently installed Snow Leopard, but the problem exists just as much now as it did before I did the install.

I have plugged smaller memory sticks into the computer and it reads those fine. I have tried formatting the hard drive on other computers and that won't work either.

If I didn't know any better, I'd think my laptop was just messing with me.
