Hello, has anybody seen an application that adds a progress bar to Apple mail in Tiger? I really don't like just the spinning gear.

Command-zero brings up Mail's activity viewer with progress bars - is that the kind of thing you want?

Hopefully Apple comes to their senses and reintroduce the status bar...
While we wait there is always the option to open the Activity Viewer (Window menu -> Activity Viewer or cmd-0) and put that somewhere visible (I have mine below the main window). Not as good as a status bar, but it will tell you what's going on (most of the time).

View mail size in progress bar
I wonder if there is any way to see the size of the incoming/outgoing mail in the progress bar (same as Outlook shows-for instance: 1.4 MB out of 2.0 MB)
