Hi All
I'm in the process of setting up a new network to share all of my files through my receiver, various tv's and my MacBookPro. I was hoping on finding an iPad app to control my library, at least in my main family room's setup, but am unsure of its existence. Here's what I'm thinking:
* TV in main family room, connected to multi-channel receiver to control sound through the house as well as other devices (turntable, video games etc.).
* TV in main bedroom and kid's tv area - both of these totally independent of the main family room but want to connect to wireless network.
Here's where my thoughts start:
* I have a couple of 750GB WD Passport drives that are quickly filling up.
* I'm considering a NetGear NuoPro Network Hub to connect to my router. This would be where all my drives connect. Basically could end up being around 5GB storage with room to increase later if necessary.
* I was then thinking of a WD Live TV to connect to each TV, enabling me to wirelessly stream my videos/music to each TV, independently of each other through a file interface. Each of these WD Live TV devices come with a remote control.
Question1: is there an iPad app I could use to control the files on the family tv? I don't mind having to use a tv remote to turn the tv on, but it'd be cool to control the files on the tv similarly to how I can use the Apple Remote to control iTunes.
Question2: is there a better way of connecting my drives wirelessly to my tv's? I've got an iPad2 and a MacBookPro, so don't mind keeping things Apple-friendly. However, running all through iTunes is not an option for me as I have too many files to think about converting them.
Any advice/help would be appreciated!!
Thanks all!!!
