Is there any way to change the alias name of a mounted SMB share? I found a thread on these forums from 2006 and figured it would be best to not necro it but it explains my exact problem: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=249716

Anyone know if there is a way to fix it now? I tried manually giving it a mount point but the name on the desktop and in finder still just shows the share name and I connect to two different servers that have the same share name.

So, anyone have any ideas?

In case anyone is interested I found something that "fixed" this for me. I mount the remote share to a custom mount point (using the server name) and then display the full POSIX path in the finder title bar.

You can see how to do this here: http://osxdaily.com/2007/12/02/show-full-directory-path-in-finder-window-title-bars/

Now the title bar always shows the server name in it so I'll know which one is which.
