I'm using the Shure Ec3's and I'm very happy good sound and in my view pretty strongly made. The problem I see is there's always something a bit better a bit more expensive and you've got to stop somewhere, unless moneys no problem. http://www6.head-fi.org/forums/index.php
In that case I'd go for the Er-6's but its all subjective. Is there a showroom nearby where you can try before you buy or better still somewhere with a good returns policy.
If you have an ipod, get the Sony MDR-EX71SL/WK. They are a very good match for the iPod. Very good sound, they kick the living (&%^ out of Apple's stock earbuds and not too expensive, well below your $150 threshold.. They are also white to match your iPod.
Duff-Man says...I was using the Sony EX71's for a long time - they are quite good for the price....but then I got a pair of Shure E3's a couple months ago and they are so much better - well worth the $$...I got them from an authorized dealer in the US and the price was pretty close to your $150cdn, give or take a few.....oh yeah!
is there a well known store that would carrry these like best buy or future shop? i'm just wonderin if i can go out and get them or if i have to order online. i'm also just thinkin of gettin another pair of apple's earbuds, i loved them. my old ones broke
honestly i love apple and all, but any of the sure's or the etys are far better than any of the apple phones. Just head to ebay, you should be able to get a set of e3c's for around 100usd after shipping give or take. make sure that they are shipped via USPS and you dont have to worry about border fees.
