Facebook messages being pushed to all devices?

I like to use Facebook chat on my iPad but when I do the messages are also sent to my iPhone because I have push notifications on for Facebook. When I'm on my computer messages are only received by my computer browser and not my iPhone. How can I configure it to be like my computer where only the iPad will receive the messages until I close the iPad Facebook app or lock my iPad?
