There seem to be a lot of car people around here so this might go well! :D

Yesterday evening I spend a couple of fun hours at Brand Hatch (pictures here (http://www.robbieduncan.net/cgi-bin/get_file.cgi?file=pictures/brands2005/index)) learning something about the handling of my little MX-5. Great fun although I need to get some better tyres for next time (and maybe better suspension...).

Anyone else taken their own car on the track?

Odd. What can't you see? Just the pictures themselves, or the whole site? The site is hosted from a shared server (can you see http://www.robbieduncan.net/ ?). The pictures are hosted from .Mac. The whole thing works for me :(

I'm not a big car guy myself, but I wanted to let you know that the pics are visible on my system running Panther (10.3.9) in both Firefox and Safari.

The tyres I have on the car are not really suited to this kind of thing (I was aware that they would not be great, but only needed new rears when I bought the car so got them to match the fronts). I was hitting 100 (mph) along the main straight and did not need to drop below 60 round most of the corners :) A couple of interesting moments as the car went sideways at that sort of speed, but that's the point of doing it somewhere safe!

i gotta try something like that some day! (of course I need a decent car to do it)

Probably not a whole lot of fun to try cornering my truck. My boss's 911 on the other hand... Where'd he put those keys? :D

Never driven Brands myself... do they open up the GP circuit? or is the Indy configuration you get to run on?

Was Indy only. In an MX-5 that was fine though, the long straights would have been a waste. The do run track days on the full GP circuit though...
