I know of a lot of careers. Bikini inspector for one. Or that guy from the Food Network that goes around tasting the world's best booze. Wish I had either of those. :p

Professional Student is good. If your spouse has a good job, that helps.

Okay, sorry to ask for a third attempt, but what exactly are you asking? What careers we know of? That's a pretty general question.
Maybe go to your local university and grab a brochure or two. :)

Well, I'm a translator, and I'd recommend it as a career. The pay is pretty good, and you can set your own hours (to some extent) while working from home (or anyplace that has an internet connection).
But, you'd need to spend the next however many years polishing your language skills both in a second language (preferably Japanese, Chinese or Korean, as they pay better than the European languages) and in your first (I'm assuming English, but....). Of course, if people have had to ask you to clarify your original post three or more times, it might not be the career for you.

It might help to ask yourself what your interests are, rather than asking us what careers we've pursued (or stumbled into).
Maybe try taking a "Diagnostic Aptitude Test" (do a google search for that term, though you'll probably have to pay to take a test) -- in theory, these tests help you figure out what you might want to do, and what you absolutely don't want to do, in your life.
That said, I took such a test back in the day and it told me to become a "Tree Surgeon" (I have no idea what that means, but I definitely don't think it's like bikini inspector). Now I teach and do IT (and am most days fairly happy) ...

Mine suggested computers or engineering. That and janitor. Everyones says Janitor. :)
You might want to consider the taking the ASVAB. It will tell you at least what the army thinks you should be doing.

I've done two "appropriate career" tests and both have come back with "professional boxer" and I'm not kidding. I've been in a proper fight only once and it's pretty safe to say these tests are BS. Professional boxer...

Been there done that, lets see....
Naval Officer, Pilot
Mortgage Originator, Marketing Manager (started their phone center)
Dir of Personnel for a 400 employee hotel
Self Employed Head Hunter for Physical/Occupational/Speech therapists
Owned an Office Cleaning Company (my best buddy has a lot of office buildings)
Back to Pilot (Corp pilot for Krispy Kreme and now Wilson Cook Medical (http://www.wilsoncook.com/) )
Now hoping to get the local sales rep job with the company I fly a jet for now.
In College I took a year off and managed the Burger King in Vail (that was too much fun).
Good Luck, keep your eyes open and find things that interest you, if you don't like the field, you will have a sad life.

yes you can be a glasses wearing pilot. It becomes a limitation on your medical, much like on a drivers license. It will be a limiting factor if hoping to be a military pilot. They may have medical waivers now on some eye surgery, but they used to not do that, 10yrs ago.

There's a place near where I live that makes what the owner calls 'super premium' ice cream. I kid you not, it's better than Haagen Dazs or Ben and Jerry's put together. And the ice cream is fresh, generally made within a few days of eating it. I go there for all our ice cream needs now.
The guy who owns it plays the role of the mad scientist. All the logos show him working with beakers and test tubes in his 'ice cream lab'. He hosts kids storytimes and sells kids books and others items aimed at getting kids to read. He's a pretty neat guy, with a great job!

Don't know where you are getting that, but whatever, cause there are thousands of glasses wearing Captains at the airlines.
Some may not want you wearing them when you get the job, others won't care.
The Dept Mgr for my Aviation Dept makes about 110k and wears glasses.
