ok, after the 5.0.3 update i decided to rebuild the iphoto library. where you hold down control apple option on startup of iphoto or something like that. well anyways it finished, i quit and re-opened iphoto, and all my albums were gone, the only things in the sidebar are library and trash

It's happened to all of us... Not much you can do except give Jobs the finger for ever letting such a piece of **** software slip out the door.

Glad I read this, I was about to rebuild mine!

Has it worked right for anyone or is this universal?

I rebuilt my library before and after the update... No problems here 😎

Same here... I had no problems either.
*Goes to make a copy of his iPhoto Library folder now though*

Makes me feel clean... I guess 🙂

I am more in to this option though:

even after putting in a little effort (google 😉), I still can't find why you would want to rebuild the iphoto library. What does it do for you? should everyone do it at some point?

I'm just as lost as you but I've never had any problems with iPhoto (admittedly I'm not a power user, if that's even possible with this app) so I figure why bother...
