JavaScript van be enabled in safari....Java is somehting different ?

Yes, Java and JavaScript are two completely different things.

The story goes that Netscape decided to rename their "LiveScript" as part of a co-marketing deal with Sun Microsystems (the company that developed Java)

... on the desktop and (in this regard) more advanced mobile OS'es like Windows Mobile.
