Just a quick question before I try something.
I know someone with a PC desktop. They smelt burning when the computer was OFF, but plugged in.
This leads me to believe if must be a power supply issue as the PC was completely off. I guess could have been caused by a surge or something.
Could also be the modem as it was plugged in. As far as I know, the computer's powercord was in a surge protector.
ANYWAY! The computer no longer turns on.
I have a slightly older Compaq with nothing in it but a power supply.
I was thinking of taking out the powersupply and sticking it into the other computer. Any ideas as to why this should or shouldn't be compatible.
Any other ideas as to why this could happen and what it could be.
Yes, I told them to get a Mac, thanks. :D
