Can anyone tell me the differences between an iPod Touch and the iPod Classic?

I understand the Touch allows the user to touch the screen much like the more advanced cell phones these days.

Are there any other significant differences between the two which makes one better than the other one?

The iPod Classic is hard drive based, and holds a massive amount of music.

The iPod Touch is an iOS device. It has wifi support, you can browse websites on it, and run apps. The iPod touch is an iPhone without the phone part. It's storage capacity at max is still dwarfed by the iPod Classic, though.

Lots of differences.

The touch has apps, camera, wifi/Internet browser, games, etc. it is a multi-purpose Internet device that also has music/movies, etc. You can choose between syncing with iTunes on your computer or downloading without syncing.

The classic needs to be synced with your computer to get content on it. Not really any games, unless you bought them before. No internet browser. But it holds a massive amount of content.

What will work for you depends on what you need. Do you want an all purpose device? Or lots of storage?
