I'm just wondering what will happen to the Velocity Engine when Apple start using Intel chips?
I don't know much about Intel or PC architecture, so does anyone have an idé about what will happen to the Velocity Engine
And how will it work with a dual core?

Velocity Engine will go bye, bye - it is found only on PowerPC chips (G4 & G5).

Will there be a replacement?
Is this already available?
How will this affect the speed?

Intel have SSE1/2/3 which is kind of the same. In PC apps, using SSE can speed up some type of apps by a big amount, so the lack of AltiVec/Velocity Engine might not be such as big deal (in terms of speed).
