Is my Camcorder Mac compatible?

Can anyone help me, or suggest a forum which might, with the following question.

I have acquired a panasonic NV-GS75 Camcorder. I was told the product was compatible with Mac. However, the software supplied with the camcorder is solely for PC and the camera does not appear to have a firewire connection. My MAC did not pick up the hardware when i plugged in to USB 2.0. Is this camera compatible with Mac? If so, what do i need to make it work?!

From what I know USB camcorders don't work easily with iMovie. iMovie won't recognize the USB input. Sometimes the computer will recognize the camcorder as a hard drive, which case you can copy the files by USB, but I suspect by you asking this questions you can't do that.

Sorry, no suggestions short of getting another camcorder.
