Blacklist, Ignore list, Buddy List... all the same file. Cuts down on hard drive usage, see?

Did a little Google search and found this...The buddy list is used to keep track of the friends you have made on this board. By going to your "My vB Home", you'll be able to see which of your friends are currently online, and be able to send them a private message. Adding people to your buddy list also allow you to send private messages to multiple board members at the same time. You may add any member of this board to your buddy list by clicking this button in a member's posts.
Ignore lists are used for those people who's messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read a thread.

lots of people were on my buddy list in the beginning but i stopped when the list got too big
i used to have one user on my ignore list for a few weeks but then we corresponded here so much that he now resides on my buddy list :)
there are so many things people say that i just ignore anyway so i don't need to block out any specific person

Got to say I don't bother using the buddy list or ignore list. Don't really see them as being that useful.

Not sure if you'll answer this or if you're ignoring me :( , but doesn't ignoring people make for really interesting threads. Aren't there massive gaps in them?

Yeah... I've never put anyone on ignore (tho I've been tempted a few times) since I'm scared on missing out on something. Besides, sometimes people improve on further 'acquaintance' and I'd hate to miss their new-found gems of sensible discussion.
Equally, I've never bothered with the buddy list either. If I decide I need to PM someone, it's usually in reply to something I've just read by them so the PM button is handy anyhow.

nope, not ignoring you. :D
Actually I only have two people on that list. People, that after about 10 REALLY annoying posts I have just decided I can live without. It still shows their name in a thread it just don't shows what they post. You can still view it IF you want to but it requires a second step to click view comment.
I think it is pretty handy as it saved me from a lot of aggravation. ;)

I have maybe 10-12 folks on my Buddy List. It's an easy way to check and see if your favorite members are online.
No one on the Ignore List. That'd take all the flavor out of the forums. ;)

I really don't see the point of an ignore list. If you don't want to read the person's post just scroll down. Buddy list? Meh, might be useful to some but not to me... (I have no friends... :( )
