I did this to myself just to see, and I must say that it is quite a waste of time. Don't bother trying this on someone. It's just a lame IM bot.

I wonder how evolved the conversation engine is compared with AOLiza (http://fury.com/aoliza/), which lives at a certain AOL screen name and converses with people who happen on it accidentally. I believe AOLiza was based on the Eliza program written by Joseph Weizenbaum at M.I.T., which became a popular LISP program based on the "doctor" script that let it pose as a psychotherapist.
