Hey all,

I just ordered a 1 gig SODIMM (DDR PC2700) from Crucial for my Powerbook. I'll be swapping out a 512MB SODIMM, so I got to thinking - is there any reason i can't pop it into my daughter's G4 iBook (which requires DDR PC2100 memory)?

I know way back in the old days you could always put faster RAM into a slower machine, as long as it was of the same type (not that there was any real advantage to it) - but I'm not particularly conversant with all the new memory technologies. Do the same rules still apply?

Thanks!

Edit: Looks like I may have found my answer in Crucial's FAQ (http://www.crucial.com/kb/answer.asp?qid=4058), but if you've got contradictory thoughts or experiences they're welcome!

Should be no problem.
