apple's Backup app doesnt backup apps :(

the backup application for .mac users is what i use to backup my home folder. it does everything fine except for applications. i have all my 3rd praty apps in a folder in my home folder and they get left out of the backup. anyone else have this problem?
 
I don't backup like I should, but I do backup my home folder on occassion. I wouldn't think applications would be backed up 1) because they are so large and 2) Mac apps are on your OS installation CDs. 2b) You should have installation infor for paid for apps, too.
