maya 6 +logitech mxlaser mouse?

to my dismay, the logitech laser mouse doesn't seem to agree with maya 6?


i need the buttery smooth tracking... just because it does feel like butter...


the problem is the viewpoint navigation stuff, alt+ left click rotates... alt+ right click zooms, alt+center button nothing! the logitech software has no programming for the center button, only the scroll wheel on the mouse.

am i missing something?
