I decided that I'd like a bigger drive and more RAM and am going to sell my Ultimate i7 Air from last year (256 GB SSD and 4 GB of RAM, 1.8 GHz). What can I expect to get? I was thinking of trying $1300 on Craig's list. Is that reasonable?

Value of 2011 Ultimate 13.3" Air?

I sold my 2011 mba 13" ultimate for $1200 just over a month ago. I have bought/sold MacBooks air/pro annually to get the latest and greatest. Actually, I also make sure to sell them before it's 1st birthday, so that they are still eligible for apple care for the next owner. It's a selling point to have it already, but since I know I'm going to sell mine, I don't bother purchasing one.
I try to sell them within a month of the upcoming revision so that I can get the most for them. Once you get within the announcement of the latest revision, the value of your stuff drops, regardless if you bought it the day before.
Anyway, that's my experience and the macbook air ultimate I had was 10months old...sold it for $1200 cash via craigslist.
I keep all the packaging and of course, the laptop in pristine condition.

reggie23x: I usually do that, but after the announcement because I still need a computer. What do you do in the meantime between selling and getting the new version?
Are you referring to the maxed out Air from the previous gen, which is comparable in specs including benchmarks to the base i5 Air from the new gen which runs at ~$1450 including tax?
If you're referring to that, it would be a near 50% depletion in value after a few months...😱.

Yes, the 2011 13" Ultimate is selling for $1000 on eBay, $1100 with extras like Applecare. I picked up a 2012 Ultimate ($2200), and after a couple of days decided that as nice as the upgrade is, its not worth $1200. To me.
