Hi, I'm writing an audio playback and record app. Currently, I'm using QuickTime, which does a great job of basic playback (audio only). However, at some point I'd like to be able to apply effects, preferably any of the CoreAudio effects that already exist. But I've looked at the CoreAudio API and documentation and it looks like a colossal PITA for a Cocoa programmer to learn and use (The QuickTime C API is bad enough). So what I want to know is if QuickTime is now, in Tiger, using the CoreAudio APIs under the hood for audio playback. And if so, are there ways to do things like apply a CoreAudio effect to it, or get raw waveform data?
