Isn't it a little premature to put this poll up?

Unless this is in regard to election day then I would say that arn is jumping the gun.
Won't you feel silly if Apple releases the laptops on the 7th ;)

I am gonna laugh if nothing is released and a bunch of people answer "Pleasantly Suprised" or "Wow!" thinking about completely unrelated things in their lives :-P

Since it the end on Nov. 5th I'd have to say confused right now.
Edit - On second thought, if I knew that already - I'd be buying myself a "winning" Lottery tickey.

Cart-master: I can't take 'im like that! It's against regulations!

I am so glad I listened to my Mac buddy and waited. I can now afford a top of the line PB. I haven'e been able to bring myself to close the web page with my order information.
And yes I am a switcher.

what else could be said, but "wow!" i think that this was more than any of us could have though t aple to introduce. with the mobility 9000, superdrive, and price cut of the TiBook, and finally a sub 1000 dollar ibook, this is great. keep up the great work apple :D :D :D

I like the update. I said 'Wow!' just because apple usually doesn't do updates very well (usually :() But I am very please with this one.

I'm confused as to wheter this is supposed to be about the elections or the apple updates, so as far as the elections go I'm disappointed. Jeb Bush is still our gov. The GOP has overtaken the Democrats, and locally people voted against a tax that would save our Trauma Dept (at the hospital I work for) and dept that saves hundreds of lives. The good things that came out of it were we banned smoking in public places, voted for smalled class sizes and the safty of pregnant pigs (.....) As far as the Apple update goes, everyone seems happy with the Powerbooks now, and I'm closer to getting a iBook than before, I still think to have a model going into 2003 without a damn cdr is complete crap, but hey.....

I assume those who voted on the bad side of the day either had a bad November day, or didn't see the new Apple iBooks and Powerbooks.
If those assumptions are wrong, then...
Apple matched what I had in mind for speeds, as well as almost everyone else had in mind: 800MHz, G3. I am a little disappointed that Apple didn't drop the 14 inch screen. I saw one in person, and made an awkward facial expression. L^/ A quick glimpse at the nearby 12 inch version made me smile again. :)
The Powerbook speeds and the internal Superdrive certainly looked impressive. I thought the min. would drop out at 800MHz. But it looks like we got a Superdrive and 1GHz.
The one thing that really took me away above all else was the huge price drops. Now the 14 inch iBook is around 1600 or so, and my Graphite Firewire was worth 1800 for a 12 inch screen. (Don't bother comparing the two right now. :)) The Powerbooks go a step further. The top of the line is worth $3000, compared to the old $3800 or whatever with the Rev. C. The GHz base version is $200 less, much less than the $3200 Rev. C 800MHz model.
Again, I am impressed. I knew Apple would have something ready before MacWorld.

You don't like the 14 inch screen?!?!?! I think it is beautiful. It is the brightest, crispest (is that a word :p?) laptop screen on the market. I don't see how you could like the 12" more. My sister has a 12" monitor, and the smallness of it annoys me all the time.
I really want one of these laptops, but I am in no position to buy one right now, and I have absolutely no need for one..... Oh well, testing them out at compUSA is enough for now.

Well, even though the "today" you are referring to was ten days ago, i am not happy. Not b/c they didn't do a good job, but b/c my iMac isn't as top of the line as it used to be... selfish ain't it!? I need to get a life. I just wish there was a processor upgrade for iMac G4 to 1GHz someday.
