Is it correct that if you were to use your iTunes account (whatever that might be, in my case a Live.com address) you will then be offered the ability to sign up for a @me.com address and once done whether on the iPhone / Mac or iTunes you can then use that new @me.com as the sign in?

I had MobileMe, which I transferred over to iCloud, but its annoying that I can't have 1 universal sign-in. I don't use the email hardly at all, so I'm thinking I might just switch over (if it does give you the option to use either login).

Thanks for any clarificaiton you can provide!

PS: Should it be correct that you can, can you then amend the login username to a single username (like, JoeBloggs instead of JoeBloggs @me.com or @live.com)? I'm sure I read that if you log into AppleID you can do this...
