Hey everyone, I'll be getting a Macbook Air someday soon, and I'm wondering if it's worth it to get the SuperDrive, or if Remote Disc is satisfactory.
I have a large music collection on CD that I have been ripping using iTunes, for the past 5-6 years or so, since I got a 5th gen 60 GB iPod, that totals around 60 GB of 128 kbps mp3s.
I intend to re-rip the entire collection to a lossless format, probably ALAC, for archival purposes, I have a 1 TB USB 3.0 external HDD to keep it in. For regular listening, I'll probably use iTunes Match, if it's good enough. If it's not, I'll just convert a portion of my library into 256/320 kbps AACs. I wish Apple would release a larger capacity iPod Touch... What other high-capacity music players are available right now?
Would I be able to do this using some other PC's optical drive, or is the SuperDrive my best bet? And what other third party external optical drives are also good options?
Cheers
