Hi guys

I´ve had my new mid 2012 air for a couple of days now, and i just noticed marks in the metal above 14 keys. They are 1-2 mm wide scratch marks that can be seen in certain lightings. They look like they have been caused by some machine in the factory. Do someone else have these scratch marks?

I managed to photograph the marks with my 4S. Not the best picture quality but you can see the marks. How do I upload?

No scratches on mine. Try to upload some pictures.

Click on the little paper clip icon in the message box and a dialog box will pop up that enables you to upload a picture. It needs to be less than 2.86MB, so save it as a lower-quality JPG if necessary.

On a side note, most Apple products are hand-assembled, so there will occasionally be some production defects. How noticeable are they? If it is going to bother you, consider exchanging it, but if it works otherwise, then consider the hassle of exchanging vs. keeping it.

I think that the picture is larger than 2,86 mb?

I had some issues with my last air but never returned it, this time I think I will return it. Can't justify living with a problem when you've payed a substantial amount of money.

Upload it to imgur or somewhere and link it here.

Don't think that's normal unless those marks have some significance regarding the foreign keyboard, but I wouldn't expect so.

If it bothers you I'm sure Apple would swap it out for you.

It actually looks worse in the photo than I was expecting. Apple should replace that for you, it looks like a manufacturing defect.

Yeah it's bad I know! Love the computer besides those marks. No other defect, but I will try to replace it, can't live with them!
