It seems that Apple has suddendly changed his mind... However now with these settings, Mail on SL can get iCloud mail messages. Basically the servers are the older:

incoming: mail.me.com
outgoing: smtp.me.com

To summarize:

OLDER SERVER FOR APPLE MAIL ON PRE OS 10.7 MACS
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5330

SERVERS FOR GENERIC EMAIL CLIENTS
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864

AUTOMATIC SETUP FOR APPLE MAIL ON LION MACS
http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html

There are some exceptions, for instance on some Androids and WebOS devices while the incoming set up is the old imap (mail.me.com), the only way to send messages is to select the nwe iCloud smtp server (smtp.mail.me.com).

automatic?

Is this happening automatically? I did the icloud upgrade on a second machine, browser based transition. My ios devices updated fine, and actually my SL based MBP using mail, still sends and receives my me.com mail without any mail setting changes.

I don't know, but I guess that when I did the migration I clicked on the "all devices meet the requirements" option.

There's something odd, including the "pxx-" prefix in the IMAP field the appears in Lion. Some Android users use that...

What are your MBP IMAP and SMTP settings?
