My third generation iPod touch (32gb) was dropped and now the screen is really dark. I think that the backlight is broken. Does anybody know how much it would cost me to get it fixed at apple? Should I just buy a new one, get it fixed at apple or wait for the next model to come out. I have the iPad so I don't need it right away.

You can check for repair companies on your area or online. I am sure their website will provide pricing and an idea of what kind of service they provide.

Try this, for example;

Keep in mind the damage done to the device could be to the logic board itself, making the LCD backlight not work no matter what kind of LCD you use. IN this case I'd recommend this to make sure you let the experts find out whats really wrong;
