Hi,

Right now I have 3 sites (my parents, my office and my home).
I have iMacs in all of those places, all connected to my icloud and with back to my mac activated.

I have mounted a shared folder on one of the remote imacs. My intention was to use this remote mount as destination to my time machine backup.

however it doesn't appear in the available destinations for time machine, even though the share is correctly mounted and accessible from the desktop.

any workaround?
thanks.

Have you tried accessing it directly, rather than through Back to My Mac? I know that if I connect to a remote Mac that has file sharing enabled via ShareTool, and mount one of that remote Mac's internal drives locally, then I can use it for Time Machine. ShareTool makes bonjour services available and uses SSH; I’m not sure how BTMM connects but perhaps that's the problem. ShareTool makes it appear as if that internet-connected Mac is on the LAN.
