I may be mistaken, but previously didn't the ibooks come with a firewire cable?

Now they don't.

Hahaha, the iBooks never came with a Firewire cable, E V E R. No mac does, or ever did, not in the past few years anyways.

actually the 20 gig ipod used to come with a firewire cable AND a usb 2.0 cable, the new ones don't.

The iPod's used to come with a firewire cable and now only come with a USB 2.0 cable, maybe you are getting confused with the iBooks and iPod's...

Hahaha, the iBooks never came with a Firewire cable, E V E R. No mac does, or ever did, not in the past few years anyways.

My 2001 G4 533MHz came with 2 Firewire cables. One standard and one for a Mini-DV camera.

Bought my iBook in Dec.2004 and no FW came with it nor did my eMac.

The only machine that I would think would come with a FireWire cable would be the PowerMac, and that's it. Even though they don't.

No FireWire cables included in any of the lines.

Shouldn't firewire cables come with the devices you need to connect to a Mac? No reason for Apple to bundle them with the computer's accessories.

Here in NL prices for the 12" went up from 999 to 1039 euro (US$1200 to 1250).

My old-school iMac DV SE came with a firewire cable. :)

Never used it though....

Shouldn't firewire cables come with the devices you need to connect to a Mac? No reason for Apple to bundle them with the computer's accessories.

You would think so, i mean with so many products out their that use Firewire they "should" be bundled with a cable.

Exactly, if you buy a usb device it has a cable included with it (these days it has, that wasn't always the case). We should ask firewire hardware makers to bundle cables, not Apple!

Here in NL prices for the 12" went up from 999 to 1039 euro (US$1200 to 1250).

Assuming that Apple took the chance to adjust the pricing worldwide to compensate for currency fluctuations (devalued US dollar?)

Mine didn't. RevA 1.8ghz 17" from an Apple store.

And, quite a few USB devices do NOT include a cable. Printers are the best example of this... the USB device is probably fairly low profit margin, but cables are very high margin, so they separate them and lure you in with a low price, only to sell you rip off add-ons. It's a good idea to buy a 2 or 4 pack of USB and/or FW cables from a low price dealer and just have them around.
