Is she a wrestler?

edit:: read the title and googled.. answered my own question

As for wrestler's, she's much better looking then China from the Surreal Life.

That's because Keibler doesn't actually wrestle.... not in the real sense anyway. More like pillow fighting and whatnot, not that there is anything wrong with it. You can obviously tell why she is there.

Well I finally broke my own rule and put Emmy up for at least the time being. Here she is, in all her glory:

http://www.circlethought.com/forum_images/aug_1.jpg

and a little problem I have been having lately, which I am not sure the cause. Check out the attached if you will, see those vertical lines near her left arm....they show up randomly after time on a given background, then go away once I change backgrounds. Any ideas what might cause them??

...and another one... (work is in progress on one more, so there might be another entry later... ;))

It's a bit fuzzy, but I just don't want to redraw it in Illustrator to vectorize it and make it clearer when I blow it up... :o

I may be wrong but that looks very similar to a problem I had with my old laptop. It was caused by screen burn, but didn't go away, once its there it doesn't usually go away, hence making me think your problem might not be this, just a thought.
Great pic by the way, is she from Phantom Of The Opera?

I don't think it is screen burn, and actually I just got back from shopping and it happened again! (see attached). If I ctrl-click and change the desktop, even to the same image, all those lines go away so it really makes me think it is somehow related to the screensaver or something of the like, basically only appearing once the screen goes into a saver mode of sorts.

She is Emmy Rossum, from PotO amongst other things :D

What screensaver do you have selected? I've had problems similar to this with certain third-party screensavers.

I have just been using the standard "Beach" set, although I do have one third-party screensaver installed, but I haven't used it in ages.

Actually I don't use Garageband, I have that banjo thing set as iTunes  because it looks more musical to me. I only had Safari, Mail, AddressBook, iCal, iTunes, AdiumX, and Clutter....not too much considering maxed ram (1.25Gb)....at least I hope not

Lol. First, use Command+Shift+3 to take a screenshot. It will save it to your desktop. Then, open that screenshot and take another screenshot. Then close the screenshot you had open and open the new screenshot that you just took. Now, take a screenshot of this. You get the idea. Keep doing this until you get tired of it! :D

Seems sad...
Yep, even sadder if you know what my wallpaper says. lol

Latin and Greek - From the Satyricon of Petronius (d. A.D. 66), chapter 48.

Translation:
With my own eyes I saw the Sybil of Cumae hanging in a bottle; and when the boys said to her: "[Sybil, what do you want?]" she replied, "[I want to die.]"

The Sibyl was a prophetess and was suspended in a bottle in the temple of Hercules at Cumae (near Naples). She was granted long life by Apollo, as many years as grains of sand she held in her hand, but she had forgotten to ask to retain her youth. With her aging she withered away.

Anyways, i like it, and i doesn't get strange looks from my professors when they see my wallpaper, which is usually a hot chick. lol

Perhaps it's because she was in a movie titled 'Ice Princess' :p

Fair warning, the filesize is GIANT, which means it will be crisp on large displays :)

Anyways I couldnt find the file so I just uploaded up to

You saved to a .jpg file, no chance you used some compression on it to make the filesize a bit smaller? That could make it a bit blurry if you did. Also if you want to give it a try, I did mine by using 'Core Image Fun House' which is included in /Developer/Applications/Graphic Tools. Can change the colors really quickly and easily by using Modifying 'Color Effect' > 'False Color' and then picking what shades you want. Mine turn out pretty smooth that way.

i agree with what tag said.

plus just so you know, unless the original is different or unless you specify, photoshop will save your files at 72 pixels per inch by default. (you need to know this if you ever want to print somethng you photoshopped) if you go to size image, click off the check mark for "resample image" (you don't want it to physically resize the picture at this point) and get it to about 300 pixels per inch. the numbers in the upper boxes for the image size will change - that will be your "print size" - so if you have a large picture and you want to print it at 5x7" change the inches but make sure it does not resample the image... this will give you the max resolution (pixels per inch) and the picture will be more crisp.
this rule of thumb also works for keeping quality images just for desktop or web use.

when you go to save, be sure you save at a decent quality or it will degrade the image as well. you can also fiddle with your compression settings but that is a whole other story.

hope that helps

I actually have 7 different browsers, when I build websites, etc. I test how all my pages (style sheets, checkout baskets, etc.) preview in the different browsers, some things work in some but not in others. It can be a real pain, someday there will be one clean standard for all browsers I hope. I also *shudders* have to test web page load times on a PC with a 56k dial up connect as that is what many comp users have, broadband has still not hit many homes, they still represent a big slice of the pie.

Great desktop Matt! One of my all time favorite movies, in my opinion a classic worthy of Top 10 All-Time status. There are so many straight up hilarious scenes in that movie I can watch that movie over and over and not get tired of it. The Coen brothers are brilliant. :D

You mind sharing a link to the desktop pic?

Just keeping up with popular paranoia :D, and I like to respect the privacy of some friends of mine, especially some MSN ones whose names are displayed, or whose email addies are out there. The rest of them, well I just don't want you talking to all my honnies

It works, first hit in GIS for me, however you cannot link to it successfully, sucks for you guys....

FYI - Up for a short while because it is 2.2Mb and I don't want you leechies pulling that down all day, so subject to come down at any time without notice. If you don't get it, well then get it from someone else. Sorry, tough love

*laughs out loud* fair enough, I wouldn't want some of these ultra menacing mac techie forum frequenter types sniffin around either...:D

and of course all of my FBI and CIA contacts would probably get pissed if they started getting random MR members IMing them....because we all know half that list is "sensitive" for one reason or another *cough* black IM 'book' *cough* :D
