I'm running into a really frustrating problem since installing Mountain Lion. The Messages app, which I've been looking forward to since trying the beta version in Lion, isn't working for me with iMessage.

I get the following message when I start the app:

And then this in the accounts window:

Clicking 'Resend verification email' does nothing - I get no email!

Clicking 'Remove Email' also does nothing, the dialogue just re-presents itself.

Anyone experienced a similar issue? I really want to get this working!

I spent about an hour on the phone with Apple with the same problem. Finally was escalated to engineering they will have to reset my AppleID on there end. For me Messages quit working on all devices after I tried using Messages on the Mac.

They said they should respond in about 24 hours, and that it is a known issue affecting some customers.

That's what I get for being an early adopter I guess.

Thanks for the info.

I guess I'll have to get in touch with Apple then - at least they're aware of the issue. A little annoying but hopefully it can be sorted without too much hassle!
